Our Opinion with Solutions

The health crisis occurring in impoverished regions needs to be addressed. To break free from the cycle of poverty and disease, these nations need food donations. With better nutrition, people in these areas will be able to work and lead healthy lifestyles. We agree with and support the World Food Programme in its efforts to distribute food rations. The US Global Food for Education Initiative is providing food at schools, which helps with malnutrition and also encourages children to get an education. This is a great way to kill two birds with one stone! We also believe that Green Revolution farming techniques should be brought to poverty-stricken nations to increase crop production. The World Health Organization's involvement is also important to support developing countries; for example, in 1998, there was a program called Roll Back Malaria to lower the number of fatal cases, in accordance with the Millennium Development Goals. Overall, our opinion is that we, as a developed nation, need to help lower the number of completely preventable deaths occurring every single day so that these nations can begin to sustain themselves.
